My name is Boris Luks. I was born and raised in beautiful town of Sremska Mitrovica. Mitrovica is situated close to Belgrade and Novi Sad - it takes only 45 - 50 minutes by car. I have decided to breed American Staffordshire Terriers because they are so loving towards people and children, but also because of their confidence, outstanding energy and courage. These dogs are muscular, sporty, perfectly built and always ready for all challenges. I love dogs, regardless of the breed. It seems that I have been a dog lover since my early childhood. I remember that I was going on my own, as 12 years old boy, to CACIB exhibitions in Belgrade and Novi Sad, armed with my camera and passion for dogs. Even than, I used to spend most of the time at the America Stafford Terriers rings. I was attracted by their athletic and robust appearance, strong head and extreme liveliness. Even at those days I was determined to breed this beautiful kind. And I did so, as soon as the conditions were met. |

I’ve got my first dog in 1993. It was a female, named Alisa. She was only the pet. In 1993, on PA terrier show in Ruma I met Mr. Jovica Zivkovic. I knew him from before, but not until then did I start taking dog breeding seriously. I have moved from the apartment into a house. Finally I was able to buy a puppy – my first Stafford Terrier show dog. Breeding dogs for a short period of time all my three adult dogs became champions. Dogs, my former hobby, became my obsession and my passion, so I decided to take breeding seriously. My goal is to breed healthy individual dogs which would, with a proper socialization and upbringing, become equal family members and children’s friend. |

The name of the kennel, Golden Standard, reflects my determination to create healthy dogs exclusively, that would meet the highest standards in character and looks, therefore outstanding show dogs. In order to achieve my goal I am conscious that I have to follow the newest updates and learn constantly. Therefore, I have to choose adequate males and cooperate with the best dog breeders. The result of that will be the top quality dogs.
